Purchasing games, expansions, or in-game currency is handled entirely within the app, with the transaction linked to your PSN wallet or linked payment method. Once a purchase is complete, or if you own a title you want to install, the app can send a remote download command to your linked PS4 or PS5. This feature ensures that large game files, updates, or patches begin downloading immediately, even while you are away from home. You can also manage your console's storage remotely—deleting old games or applications to free up space, then queuing new downloads or updates to run in the background. After initiating all tasks, the app allows you to put the console into Rest Mode to conserve power while downloads continue.
Profile Customization and Trophy Tracking
The app includes a dedicated profile editor where you can update your avatar, change your online status (Online, Away, Busy, or Appear Offline), and modify your "About Me" section. The trophy collection interface displays your complete list of earned Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze trophies across all games. You can compare trophy progress with friends, view detailed unlock requirements for specific achievements, and share your latest trophy acquisitions directly to social media feeds. A secondary keyboard input feature allows you to type messages or search for games on the console using your phone's keyboard, which is often faster than the on-screen controller input.
