Description Proxy Browser
You are testing a new proxy configuration on your device. The connection fails. You switch between apps, manually adjusting server addresses and port numbers, losing time and context. Proxy Browser eliminates this friction by integrating proxy management directly into a full-featured web browser. Instead of toggling system-wide settings, you configure, test, and browse within a single interface.
Core Functionality
Proxy Browser functions as a dual-layer tool: a standard web browser with a built-in proxy manager. The browser component renders pages using a WebView engine optimized for Android 5.0 and above. The proxy manager supports HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4, and SOCKS5 protocols. You can enter server addresses, port numbers, and authentication credentials (username/password) directly into the app’s settings panel.
Key Tools and Modes
- Per-Tab Proxy Assignment – Assign a different proxy server to each open tab. One tab routes traffic through a US-based SOCKS5 server, another through an HTTP proxy in Germany, without affecting the others.
- Quick-Switch Profiles – Save up to 10 proxy configurations as named profiles (e.g., “Work,” “Home,” “Public WiFi”). Switch between them with two taps from the toolbar.
- Connection Test Tool – Ping a target proxy server before routing traffic. The tool returns latency in milliseconds and confirms protocol compatibility.
- Traffic Log Viewer – View a real-time log of all HTTP requests made through the browser, including response status codes and round-trip times. Filter by domain or proxy profile.
- Cookie and Cache Isolation – Cookies and cached data are stored separately for each proxy profile. No data leaks between configurations.
Why This Approach Works
Separating proxy management from system settings prevents accidental exposure of your real IP address when switching networks. The app does not require root access. It operates entirely within its own sandbox, meaning proxy settings apply only to traffic generated inside Proxy Browser. No other apps on your device are affected.
Consider Downloading
You might enjoy Proxy Browser if you need to test geolocked content, manage multiple remote servers, or simply want a dedicated tool for proxy-based browsing without altering your device’s global network configuration.
Heads up: you will need an active internet connection for the browser and proxy features to function. Some proxy protocols (SOCKS5 with authentication) require a compatible remote server that you already have access to. The app itself is free, but certain advanced log filtering options are available as an in-app purchase.
