Chef Wars is a role-playing game that replaces traditional combat mechanics with culinary skill. Instead of equipping armor or casting spells, you prepare dishes to defeat opponents. The primary antagonist, Baron von Pork, can only be overcome by proving your superiority in the kitchen.

Core gameplay mechanics

Your adventure begins with a limited set of ingredients, restricting the number of dishes you can prepare. As you progress, you unlock over 200 distinct ingredients. These ingredients combine into more than 900 unique recipes, giving you access to nearly 1,000 different meals. Each recipe has specific preparation requirements, ingredient combinations, and cooking techniques.

The game features a structured progression system. After learning a recipe, you can enter culinary battles. These battles take place across more than 500 cities, each hosting cooking competitions. In each contest, three judges evaluate your prepared dish against your opponent's. The judges base their decision on specific criteria, including taste, presentation, and ingredient quality. Winning a battle earns you fame points and unlocks new cooking skills.
