Description Civilization VI
From Settler to Emperor: Your Civilization Begins Here
The moment you place your first Settler on the map, you are no longer just a player—you are the architect of an empire. Civilization VI, the sixth landmark entry in the legendary turn-based strategy series, now arrives on Android with a full desktop-to-mobile conversion engineered by Aspyr Media. This is not a stripped-down port. It is the complete 4X experience—explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate—rebuilt for touch interfaces while preserving every core system from the PC original. Whether you are a veteran who has conquered on Deity difficulty or a newcomer who has never founded a single city, this release offers a calibrated difficulty curve and a depth of strategic layers that demand your full attention.
Core Gameplay Mechanics and Systems
Turn-Based Empire Management with Full Customization
Every game of Civilization VI begins identically: you control a Settler and a Scout (or Warrior). Your first critical decision is where to settle your capital. From that moment forward, you will manage technologies, civics, military units, city improvements, trade routes, and diplomatic relations. The game supports full parameter customization at startup: map size (from Duel to Huge), number of competing civilizations, game speed (from Online to Marathon), victory conditions (Science, Culture, Domination, Religion, or Score), and difficulty level (Settler through Deity). This ensures each playthrough can be tuned to your preferred pace and challenge.
Adaptive Tutorial and Assistance Levels
The game includes a granular assistance system accessible from the main menu. You can select from four support tiers: "I'm new to strategy games," "I'm new to this Civilization game," "I've played Civ before," and "I need no help." Each tier adjusts the frequency and depth of advisor prompts, tooltips, and suggested actions. This system does not alter core mechanics—it only changes how much guidance the interface provides. You can change this setting at any time during a game.
Technology and Civics Trees
Two parallel research tracks drive your empire's progress. The Technology Tree covers scientific advancements—from Pottery and Mining to Nuclear Fusion and Future Tech. The Civics Tree governs government policies and cultural development. Each discovery unlocks new units, buildings, districts, wonders, or policy cards. Research speed depends on your empire's science and culture output per turn, which you can boost by constructing specific districts (Campus for science, Theater Square for culture) and assigning Great People.
District System and City Planning
Unlike previous entries, cities in Civilization VI are not built on a single tile. You must place specialized districts (Campus, Holy Site, Encampment, Harbor, Commercial Hub, Industrial Zone, Entertainment Complex, Theater Square, and later, Government Plaza and Spaceport) on empty tiles adjacent to your city center. Each district provides adjacency bonuses based on terrain and nearby districts. This forces you to plan your city layout carefully—a Campus next to mountains yields bonus science, while a Harbor next to a city center and sea resources yields bonus gold. District placement is permanent; you cannot move them after construction.
Government Policies and Diplomatic Visibility
Your civics progress unlocks policy slots in your government. You can equip Military, Economic, Diplomatic, and Wildcard policies that modify unit maintenance costs, trade route yields, wonder construction speed, and more. Your government type (Chiefdom, Autocracy, Oligarchy, Classical Republic, and later, Monarchy, Theocracy, Fascism, Communism, Democracy) determines how many policy slots you have of each type. Diplomatic Visibility tracks how much you know about other civilizations—higher visibility grants combat bonuses against them.
Combat, Units, and Support Actions
Military units operate on a one-unit-per-tile rule. You can combine units into Corps (two units) and Armies (three units) once you unlock the relevant civic and military tradition. Units gain experience through combat, which unlocks promotions (e.g., +7 combat strength in hills, +1 movement, or the ability to heal outside friendly territory). Support units (Battering Rams, Siege Towers, Drones) can attach to melee units to provide city attack bonuses. Naval units have separate promotion trees and can raid coastal tiles.
Great People and Wonders
Great People (Generals, Scientists, Artists, Writers, Musicians, Engineers, Merchants, Prophets, Admirals) are earned by accumulating Great Person Points from specialized districts and buildings. Each Great Person provides a one-time bonus—free technology boost, unique unit, wonder construction acceleration, or culture bomb (instantly claim adjacent tiles). Wonders are unique buildings that provide powerful global bonuses. Only one of each wonder can exist in the world; if another civilization builds it first, you cannot attempt it again.
Victory Conditions and Endgame
You can pursue one of five victory types:
- Domination Victory: Capture all other civilizations' original capitals.
- Science Victory: Complete the Space Race project (launch a satellite, land on the moon, and establish a Martian colony).
- Culture Victory: Become the dominant civilization through tourism and attract more foreign tourists than any other civilization has domestic tourists.
- Religion Victory: Convert all other civilizations to your founded religion.
- Score Victory: Achieve the highest total score after the turn limit expires (default 500 turns on Standard speed).
