After every victorious battle, the player receives three core rewards: currency (coins), experience points for character progression, and a choice of one new card to add to the deck. However, deck optimization requires restraint—adding cards indiscriminately dilutes synergy. The game emphasizes building tight, synergistic hands where a few cards amplify each other's effects (e.g., a poison card followed by a toxin multiplier). Coins can be spent at intermission shops on two item categories: relics (permanent passive buffs like +1 energy per turn or damage reflection) and letters (temporary stat boosts or card upgrades usable in the next encounter).
