Before each engagement, you must select which unit formations to deploy and assign their starting positions on the grid-based battlefield. Once the battle commences, direct unit control is disabled. Instead, you can only influence the fight by activating special abilities as they become available. A speed multiplier function is included to accelerate slower encounters.

The game's depth primarily resides outside of combat. Upon starting, you receive an initial team of three pilots. As you progress, you can recruit additional characters through gacha mechanics or event completions. Each recruited pilot has a dedicated interaction system where you can initiate conversations to learn their backstory, customize their appearance through outfit changes, and advance a relationship meter that unlocks dating scenarios.
