The Story of the Forgotten Universe

You are the last surviving navigator aboard the Arkon, a derelict generation ship adrift in the void between galaxies. The ship’s core memory banks have been corrupted, and the only way to restore the vessel’s path to a new homeworld is to rebuild the lost “Nova Principles” — a set of ancient, sentient algorithms that govern reality itself. Each principle you unlock rewrites the laws of physics aboard the ship, granting you new abilities, but also awakening dormant threats from the ship’s forgotten past. Your choices will determine whether the Arkon becomes a cradle for a new civilization or a tomb for the last remnants of humanity.

Core Gameplay Mechanics

Nova Principles is a narrative-driven role-playing game that blends tactical turn-based combat with a unique resource-management system based on the “Principles” you discover. The game world is a single, massive, interconnected starship — every corridor, cargo bay, and reactor room is explorable and holds secrets that change based on your current set of active Principles.

• Principle System: Collect and equip up to three active Principles at a time. Each Principle modifies core game rules: the “Principle of Inertia” slows enemy turns but reduces your movement speed; the “Principle of Symbiosis” heals allies when you use items, but doubles item cooldown. Swap Principles mid-combat to adapt to enemy behavior.

• Tactical Turn-Based Combat: Each encounter takes place on a grid-based battlefield within the ship’s compartments. Position your crew of up to four characters, each with unique skill trees, and exploit environmental hazards (leaking coolant, exposed power conduits, gravity plating) that you can activate using Principles.

• Crew Management System: Recruit survivors from cryo-pods scattered across the ship. Each crew member has a personal backstory, a hidden trauma, and a loyalty meter. Their performance in combat and their willingness to follow your commands depend on how you resolve story events and which Principles you prioritize.
